This is a 2nd cut from session #198, recorded July 24, 1999 at FEAST OV MOTH POWDER Festival, Arcata, CA.

"Bela" is a riff exploration into the song "Bela Lagosi's Dead" by the band BAUHAUS. Instagon started playing this riff in 1994 and has continued to pull it out of the closet every so often..usually around Halloween or where the muse commands. This show had 2 elements that brought this jam into reality. The first was that this was a pagan party.. many of the people in attendance at this party were pagans and had been part of the 80's goth scene. (where Bauhaus is a well known band, and this is their most popular tune). and second.. earlier in the day when talking to Chris VanHuffle of SUB-ARACHNOID SPACE, he told me that "Bela Lagosi's Dead" was the first thing he ever learned to play on drums.. and so knowing that he had this in his pocket made it almost mandatory that we play that night when he was sitting in with the Deamon. When the song started people woke up! People that had been asleep or huddled in their tents in the woods got up and came to the stage in the middle of the night to see who was playing this wicked version of the BAUHAUS classic.. and we were happy to have an audience, in a cloud, in the woods, 7 miles up a mountain, at 3 am.
